Our Story
In 2023, I left the Western Downs to pursue an ambition, to buy a shopfront and create a physical home for my online business.
I had explored several opportunities close to home, but was still searching for a place that felt right. My vision was to create a beautiful, welcoming space for locals and visitors, while helping keep retail alive and thriving in the bush.
I’ve always been drawn to the character and history of country towns. Seeing empty shopfronts along streets that once bustled with life stirred something in me. These stores had been part of everyday life for generations, and I believed they still had an important role to play in their communities.
When an opportunity arose in Cunnamulla, that vision came within reach. The shop was already an established retail business. Although its offering differed from my online store, I saw the potential to build on what was there, introduce something of my own and bring the two together.
With my belongings packed and a mix of excitement and uncertainty, I said goodbye to my old life and made the move to Cunnamulla.
Ecommerce was central to my vision. I believed a shop in an outback town could reach customers far beyond its main street. Each online purchase could help sustain the business and keep its doors open for locals and visitors alike.
Taking that step meant investing my savings, energy and hopes in the business. It also meant trusting that the online community I had built would share my vision and join me in this next chapter.
At its heart, this business is about creating a place people enjoy visiting and returning to. It brings together my love of business, my appreciation for country communities and my belief that a little shop in the bush can thrive with the support of people near and far.
So three years in, we’re still in Cunnamulla, with an additional store in Taroom & an embroidery arm in Wandoan. It’s been a wild ride but we’re still onboard & pushing to keep the dream alive.
